Stewart on Sanford

This is just great. Here’s a Daily Show bit on Mark Sanford’s inability to shut up about his “erotic adventures” — even after Michael Jackson’s death did him the service of removing his transgressions from national headlines! The “Hello Kitty diary” bit made me chortle most embarrassingly.

In other news, congratulations to Roger Federer for reaching yet another Wimbledon final. Tommy Haas played a rather outstanding match (well, until about halfway through the 3rd set; then he sort of short-circuited), but, well, Fed was just better. Haas — a very good player — brought his best stuff, and Fed was just a little bit better: he won a tie-break in the first set, and picked up a break in both the 2nd and 3rd. It was all he needed. That triumphant Sampras-esque final smash was a joy to watch. I think he’ll toast either Roddick or Murray (their match is still happening), but the latter will give him a better game. (I love watching Murray play because he’s just about the only top player who will consistent rely on the serve-and-volley style of play.)
