A staple of my diet:
Expecting too much or nothing at all and being surprised by the outcome…
Toning down the language a bit:
- A new podcast!
- Records page updated with a song or two or three…
- Blogs garner attention and accolades… from me.
Thanks and enjoy!

Do you know how cold it is right now?
More importantly, do you really care? With all the good stuff going on here at the Dark Comedy Hour, its hard not to a feel a little bit of that warm glow inside… kind of like that first gulp of dark beer on a chilly Friday-in-February afternoon.
The Neo-Deal is off! Like Air Force One on a Diplomatic Tour de force of the Middle East. Only on this plane, instead of the hacks, heads, and secret service, there’s hilarity, insight, quick and crisp wit… it all leaves you feeling like you’ve just put on a freshly pressed shirt, with a little of that starch in the collar, kinda like mom used to do… but a lot funnier.
Meanwhile, DC’s Mac Daddy is abuzz… the flurry of activity, observant, keen and concise, is sure to pique the political interests of even the most politically disinterested in this, America’s sober season of high prices and disinterest.
And, on a sour note, due to poor planning, the Dark Comedy Hour podcast is not yet online. Rest assured, you, faithful reader, online nomad, aloof surfer, bereft browser, will know when it is up! Stay tuned!

Opening doors, closing doors
Options, options, options… everyone wants ‘em. Some got ‘em. Some don’t.
The Dial is up and running! Intercepting messages on behalf of the Russians, or perhaps the Chinese…? Stay tuned!
Now there was talk some time ago (scroll down to see) of a podcast piece being put up online. Well, we here were so close to that moment today, until there was an unpredictable technical error which wrenched the whole process. Tonight, we will start again! And, hopefully, tonight you will hear the Dark Comedy Hour podcast as it was meant to be heard nearly 9 months ago!
In other news, we will shortly welcome a new blogger… a friend of the podcast who is having a little trouble in his life.. he can’t quite get his career going nor his love life… and, recently, as if to add a layer of turmoil to his already disheveled mental state, he’s decided to change careers. It should be interesting to see what kind of manic rants this kind of lifestyle can produce… oh, and he lives with his grandma.
Take care of those hearts, take care of those minds.. they’re the only one’s you’ve got!

Dear Reader:
Join me in welcoming to the Dark Comedy Hour, DC’s Mac Daddy: a blog about the politics of our times and the run up to the next presidential election. Exciting stuff no matter where you stand on the contentious issues of the day.
Notice this page where you can find a link to all the blogs the Dark Comedy Hour is proud to host.
And finally, this page where you will find a simple site under construction. But you know what that means… something BIG is in the works… keep an eye on the kettle and try not to burn the toast, kids.
Don’t forget to poke around the site from time to time as, often, we here at the Dark Comedy Hour don’t have enough time to post updates though changes are made!
It’s a still a snowin’ but the winds ‘o change ‘a blowin’.

Just a little patience, yea yeah
I been walkin the streets ta’nite, just tryin’ ta gehhddit rite…
Dear one and all, it is with great pleasure that I am writing to you today. Not because I bear some wonderful news or have had some stroke of progressive genius, some idea which will change everything for the better both on the website and off, but, rather, I write for the sake of writing… and creation for creation’s sake, here at the Dark Comedy Hour, makes us happy.
In the works: a Dark Comedy Dating Site. Browse bare bones text and image profiles of fellow slackers, ne’er-do-wells, addicts, aspiring writers, musicians, and actors, broken hearted poets, singer-songwriters, (day) dreamers… and other train riding, car driving, flag flying fools. Who knows? Maybe you’ll meet your true love… for about 6 months. After which, you’ll realize the sex isn’t all that good and you’ll slowly begin to extricate from the relationship by making passive aggressive comments about your partners lifestyle, habits, job, friends, cooking, and hobbies. Then, a few months later, drunkenly, you’ll hook up with someone you met in a bar and feel kinda guilty, but, overall, satiated. You expedite the breakup by drinking more and more and yelling a lot of nonsense. The lease you share will be up in Dec. So you begin looking for a new place to live. One night, while browsing craigslist, you happen upon an old bookmark in your browser. A few months later, Dark Comedy Dating catapults you into what may be the greatest relationship you’ve ever had, again! Are those wedding bells I hear? Or are you just happy to see me…
Happy 20′s and early 30′s, Modern youth. It’s good to be strong leaders and thoughtful followers! Mind your manners, save face, remember integrity, preserve character, and, please, wash your hands before you eat.

A damp day for an entry…
But here it is: exciting news: soon there will be a new piece with music and poetry posted onto the site! Yes! It’s true. Also, slow but steady progress is being made by our political analyst friend. The tumult of the current primary season and the credit crunch are really getting to him and, well, lets just say he needs some more time.
We are very much looking forward to contributions from alivealivealive who we can anticipate to be nothing short of extraordinary.
Also, we are in talks with a foreign correspondent who, in the past, has shown interest in covering Middle East cultural and political issues in depth. And a different kind of coverage from the heartland of America: tales of the Mall, the car, and other banal ‘scapes from Kansas.
Cast your net wide, America. It’s ‘a recessin’ out there…

Second Post
Some things to take note of at the Dark Comedy Hour: Andras is writing and posting Loops these days. Loops is a project wherein all the songs are based around one or two loops found either in others’ songs or in his home recordings. Check it out here. Also, stay tuned for a blog by political analyst and historian Suresh D’onura and another blog by an upstanding yet-to-be-named living legend.

First dispatch in a long while
Here at the Dark Comedy Hour, we realize that there has been a long silence. As the old saying goes, great art takes great time… that said, what we are doing is neither great, nor art. But certainly, it is taking time. Maybe its the weather. Maybe its our lack of motivation. Maybe its the recession and primary season. Maybe it’s our professional and personal lives which have overshadowed and distracted our creative energies. Or maybe its a combination of the above… and a hazy layer of sweet blue smog which sometimes makes the ‘sit’ more comfortable than the ‘do’. Nevertheless, this hastily ‘crafted’ entry is the first in, hopefully, many entries detailing the happenings, growths, deaths, ideas, aspirations, deprecations, etc. of the Dark Comedy Hour.
